B20 engine in VSCC news letter

"Aurelia" still leaps off any page at me.  Listed in with a bunch of 50s Alfa bits I spotted:

1315-xxxxx is the serial number for an Alfa 750 (first series Giulietta). I think 32414 would be Veloce, so worth a fair bit more than a Normale engine.

Looks like a typo in the advert then - lots and lots of Alfa bits in the list...

I actually rang the number this morning. No Aurelia parts I'm afraid, although Mrs Wood did mention that they'd recently sold an Aurelia !!

NPP 978D was a 6th Series B20 chassis B20-3839.
It was at the 1966 Lancia Club AGM and it had engine B20.4975.
It was sold by Sotheby's in 1982, and since then I've had no trace of it.

It would be good to know more of it and where the VSCC people come into it.

I had another thought on this. 

When I worked at Morgan Stanley and had my Aurelia (the two are related!!) I knew a James WOOD who worked on the fixed income trading floor.  We used to chat cars and racing when we could.  He'd done a Modena Cent Ore in his god father's Cobra (lucky b*gger!!!)  At that time he was hoping to turn pro and race in the 911 cup (grrrrr) or whatever it was called.  He'd also raced a pre war car at Spa, it might have been an Invicata.

He also mentioned that his dad had an Aurelia but it had been off the road a long while with the heads stuck to the block.  They'd lifted the whole car by chains attached to the cylinder heads and rather given up.

Bob Wood used to run a small motor museum near High Wycombe, but I don't remember them having an Aurelia. I think Bob had an Invicta.
